Scanship wins contract at Scottish Sea Farms' hatchery
Marine waste management specialist Scanship has been awarded a contract with Billund Aquakulturservice for Scottish Sea Farms' land-based freshwater facility at Barcaldine near Oban.
Under the deal, Scanship will provide technology for sludge handling as part of the effluent treatment of wastewater from the RAS system. The installation is scheduled to be completed in November.
Once operational, the £37 million hatchery will have capacity to produce between 2,000 and 3,000 tonnes of smolt a year.
