BioMar creates fourth division to target Asia

Aquafeed manufacturer BioMar is establishing a fourth division, embracing activities in the Asian region, including Vietnam and China.

“The new division for Asia is a milestone on our growth journey. We will, going forward, have a dedicated focus on the region in our executive management,” BioMar group chief executive Carlos Diaz said in a press release.

“We expect this change to accelerate our development of the business units and enable a broader commercial focus in the region.”

BioMar’s other three divisions are Salmon, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Emerging Markets, which focuses on new species in the Americas and in China and other Asian markets.

Experienced VP

Francois Loubere, who has more than 30 years’ experience in BioMar and is currently managing director for the BioMar West Mediterranean & Africa region, will take on a new role of vice president for Asia and will set the strategic direction for the region.

Luis García Romero, commercial manager in West Med & Africa, will take over Loubere’s position as managing director for the business unit, which produces feed in two factories in Spain and France and supplies fish farmers in South Western Europe, Africa, Persian Gulf, the Indian Ocean and Korea.
