The world’s largest service vessel
Sletta Verft AS in Aure has signed a contract with Frøy Akvaressurs AS to build a supply vessel to the aquaculture industry with delivery in late 2015. Macho 40 will with its dimensions (length 40 m, width 12 m) be the largest service ship for the aquaculture industry contracted until now. The vessel was designed by Møre Maritime AS in Kristiansund and represents a further development of a Macho 25 which was contracted by the same company in December last year and which will soon be ready for handover from Slettafossen Boatyard. Sletta Verft earlier this year signed contracts for the construction of several catamarans for Frøy Akvaservice AS for delivery in 2015 and together with the current contract represents deliveries for about 100 million of the two companies owned by Helge Gåsø. The shipyard are fully booked throughout 2015.
