"This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both companies and will further strengthen the offer of career opportunities in the seafood industry on our platforms." That's what Oceanspace Media chief executive Christian Lawley says.

Oceanspace Media owns several websites and magazines including  fishfarmingexpert.com  and Fish Farming Expert magazine, based in Scotland, and Norsk Fiskeoppdrett/Kyst.noLandbasedAQ,  Kystmagasinet, and Skipsrevyen, produced in NorwayDanish titles Maritime Direct and Fiskerbladet are the most recent additions to the Oceanspace universe.

In Chile, Oceanspace Media owns SalmonExpert and Agenda Maritima.

"Seafood People, a recognised player in recruitment and staffing within the seafood sector, brings valuable insight and experience to the collaboration. Through this partnership, we hope to offer a wider range of job opportunities and career guidance for our readers in the marine and maritime industry," says Lawley.

'A good media partner is a success factor'

Choosing a media partner, according to Seafood People, is as important as a good location is for a store.

"The battle for the best people in the seafood industry has gradually gone from challenging to more demanding in recent years. Although after eight years of operation we have built the industry's largest candidate base, have around 100,000 followers in social media and have good relationships, we cannot surf this alone. A good media partner is a key success factor when we assist players, among other things, in recruiting the best key people," says Seafood People CEO Per Håkon Stenhaug.

Seafood People's decsion to change media partners after several years follows a thorough assessment of all industry media in the seafood space, both in Norway and abroad.

"We must also remember that media businesses are not static, they are under continuous development," says Stenhaug. "We have, of course, caught up with the new publications under the Oceanspace Media umbrella recently, which gives increased reach, but also the editorial mobilisation in areas such as biology, technology, fish health, R&D, creation both on land and at sea. In conversations with clients and people in the industry, we often hear references to publications such as kyst.no and LandbasedAQ to name a few."

He emphasises that Seafood People is a consulting company, and that its contribution is to provide added value to customers.

"We believe this agreement makes an important contribution to this," he adds.

Both parties are now looking forward to utilising each other's complementary services and reaching different target groups.

"Through this collaboration, we hope to create a more holistic platform for job advertisements for the entire maritime sector, which will benefit both jobseekers and companies in the industry," concludes Lawley.
