In a press release, ScaleAQ said that since 2005 Tasmanian company PanLogica has delivered the market-leading optimisation software Neptune for fish farmers around the world. More than 25% of the world’s farmed salmon is produced by companies using Neptune.

Jørn Torsvik, vice president of digital for Scale AQ, said: “With PanLogica we are able to offer our customers the best and most proven optimising tool for fish farming.

Fully integrated

“The Neptune software is fully integrated in our Mercatus platform, providing a seamless user experience, and it is also possible to run optimisation on top of other production software. Our aim is to provide simplicity, openness and insights to our customers.”

PanLogica chief executive Dr David Wright said the merger would allow the company to scale Neptune across the aquaculture industry.

Scale AQ said PanLogica will continue to operate from its office in Hobart “whilst taking advantage of the rich synergies created from the merger”.
