Camanchaca harvested 6,423 tonnes of Atlantic salmon in Q2

Chilean salmonid farmer Salmones Camanchaca harvested 6,423 tonnes (whole fish equivalent) of Atlantic salmon it the second quarter of this year, it said in a market update today.

The fish had an average weight of 5.0 kg and an ex-cage cost of US $5.36 per kilo (WFE).

No coho salmon were harvested in the quarter.

Camanchaca has maintained its harvest estimate of 44,000-46,000 tonnes of Atlantic salmon for 2023, along with 10,000-12,000 tonnes of coho, including 4,000 tonnes expected to be harvested in January 2024.
