Rungis prices hold up

Scottish salmon in the 2-3kg range fetched an average of €9.40 per kilo at Rungis fish market in Paris during week 44, €0.20 more than the €9.20 achieved by the largest category of Norwegian salmon (6-7kg).

Meanwhile Scottish Label Rouge salmon in the 2-3kg range averaged €10.40/kg, €1.70 more than the €8.70/kg achieved by Norwegian salmon in the same size bracket at the Paris market.

According to the Nasdaq salmon index, the average price achieved by Norwegian exporters was €7.01/kg, a drop of €0.16 (2.3%) compared to week 43.

Volumes

According to the latest Fishpool statistics, so far this year Norway has produced 1,243,537 tonnes of salmon and 83,982 tonnes of trout, while during the same period it produced 1,226,587 and 97,826 tonnes respectively.
