Compact ROV launched

Marinequip AS has unveiled its design for a compact, self-contained new ROV system, which is designed with the aquaculture industry in mind.

The system consists of a 10-foot container containing an electric ROV winch, lifting equipment and control room, which can operate the ROV at depths up to 1000 metres.

Its advantages include the fact that it can be rapidly mobilized and easily installed on a range of vessels, that it takes up minimal deck space and can be operated without external cranes or lifting devices.

“Everything is in a package that you can have on deck. One can also integrate a net cleaner with our system,” sales manager Trond Johansen told kyst.no.

“The work will be more orderly and efficient. We have previously worked extensively offshore, but now offer several farming solutions,” said Johansen.

“We attach great importance to efficiency and the gentle handling of ROVs and cables. We also prolong the life of the equipment considerably by using a small launch and recovery system,” Johansen adds.
