Post-Easter rising

Scottish salmon prices have risen sharply during the two weeks after Easter, with HOG fish in the 2-3kg bracket achieving €9.72/kg at Rungis in week 14, up from €8.80 the previous week and €6.56 in week 12.

By comparison the prices fetched by Norwegian salmon of 3-4kg at the Parisian market rose from €8.70/kg in week 13 to 9.52/kg in week 14.

Scottish Label Rouge Salmon are now selling at an eye-watering €10.68/kg, up from €9.65 the previous week.
