Ocea AS has through its software division, Ocea Mercatus partnered with PanLogica Pty Ltd. in Australia. PanLogica develops the optimization tool Neptune, helping farmers to plan and simulate future production given change in production conditions. Ocea Mercatus offers through its products AquaVet, AquaFarmer, AquaFuture and AquaFinance the most complete management tool for biological and financial planning and production. Over the last few years, both companies have spent significant resources to develop and improve interfaces to optimize userfriendliness. Ocea Mercatus and PanLogica will develop modules that build the two software solutions closer together, which will improve the efficiency and increase the quality of production planning and analyses where several of the program component are involved. With this solution, customers will not only have access to effective control systems, but will also have the ability to simulate biological and financial results based on changes in assumptions. Collaboration is driven in dialogue with some of the companies’ joint customers, and Ocea Mercatus and PanLogica will strengthen their position and role further as leading suppliers of future software solutions for the industry. “We have been working for some time to put in place such an offer,” says Per Christian Engdal, CTO in Ocea Mercatus. “PanLogica in addition to having a proven product, have shown that they have the experience and expertise that fits well with what we offer in Ocea Mercatus. For us it’s important to release a product that we know will work for our users from day one and do so quickly. It was therefore a good fit that we went into a collaboration with PanLogica”. “This cooperation will really meet the request from the leading salmon producers in the world. Our team are excited to work with the Ocea Mercatus teams both in Norway and Chile”, says Dr. David Wright, MD in PanLogica.
