Norwegian salmon price climbs back up

The spot price of Norwegian salmon picked up again last week after several weeks of decline.

According to salmon industry statistics provider Akvafakta, the spot price for salmon rose by NOK 5.47 / kg in week 24 and ended at NOK 60.77 (£5.11) per kilo.

The price is NOK 9.65 lower than during the same week a year ago.

Lower average for year

The average price so far this year is NOK 57.41 per kilo, compared to NOK 63.00 / kg for the same period last year.

Norway exported 25,535 tonnes of salmon (round weight) in week 23, which is 30% more than the same week in 2021.

So far this year, the country has exported 580,000 tonnes of salmon, 17% more than last year.
