Norway salmon spot price climbs back to heady heights
After falling back a little from a record peak, the spot price for Norwegian salmon rose by NOK 9.11/kg to NOK 127.06 (£9.36) per kilo last week (week 18), according to salmon data service Akvafakta.
It is the third best salmon price ever, and the four highest have come in the last five weeks. The price is partly influenced by the weak Norwegian krone, and by limited supply.
The spot price last week was NOK 16.12/kg above the same week last year.
Higher average
The average spot price for salmon so far this year is NOK 114.74/kg, compared to NOK 107.15/kg a year ago.
Norway exported 19,064 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 18. That is 4% less than the week before, and 7% less than the same week in 2023.
