Norway salmon spot price close to NOK 100 per kilo

The spot price for Norwegian fresh farmed salmon jumped to within touching distance of NOK 100 per kg last week (week 7), according to industry statistics provider Akvafakta.

The price rose by NOK 8.77/kg to NOK 99.06/kg, NOK 6.77/kg above the same week last year.

The average price so far this year is NOK 91.36/kg, compared to NOK 74.87/kg for the same period in 2022.

Lower export volume

Norway exported 22,283 tonnes (round weight) of salmon in week 7, which was 15.5% less than the same week a year ago.

So far this year, 165,000 tonnes have been exported from Norway, 9.9% less than in the first seven weeks of last year.
