Norwegian cod farming company Norcod has appointed Arve Olav Lervåg as production director, effective December 1, 2024. Lervåg succeeds Tsjipke Deuzeman, who will start as chief executive of the Egersund-owned company Svåholmen AS from January 1, 2025.

Lervåg has worked in aquaculture for 27 years, most recently as group director of farming at Norway Royal Salmon (NRS), which has now been subsumed into the world's second largest Atlantic salmon farmer, SalMar. Before his role at NRS, Lervåg spent 10 years at Lerøy Seafood Group, where he held positions as production coordinator and production manager. Lervåg has an education from Molde University College, where he studied aquaculture and economics.

"Lervåg brings extensive and valuable expertise from salmon farming, and I am confident that his experience with commercial operations, along with his leadership skills, will be a great asset to Norcod," said Norcod chief executive Christian Riber.

"I look forward to taking on the role of production director, optimising and structuring the company's production, and contributing to Norcod's growth ambitions," said Lervåg.
