Salmon makes a splash in export awards shortlist
Representatives from different aspects of Scotland's salmon industry feature on a newly-announced shortlist for this year's Scottish Export Awards.
The Scottish Salmon Company is in the running for Most Entrepreneurial Exporter of the Year, and is also vying with Marine Harvest Scotland, among others, in the Large Exporter of the Year category.
MH Scotland has also been shortlisted in the section for High Growth Markets of the Year.
Stirling-based Aqualife Services, which describes itself as the world's leading fish vaccination company, has made the shortlist for Small Exporter of the Year. Aqualife does a large part of its business in Norway, and last year launched a new European fish health and welfare service based in Portugal to cater for flatfish farms on the Atlantic coast and bass and bream aquaculture in the Mediterranean.
Annan salmon smoker St James Smokehouse has also made the Small Exporter shortlist, and is on the shortlist for Export Team of the Year,alongside another salmon smoker, John Ross Jr (Aberdeen) Ltd.
The awards are run by Scottish Enterprise and BQ magazine and sponsored by HSBC. This year's awards ceremony will take place at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel on March 22.
