Maritech names new North America boss
Company well positioned to lead digital transformation of seafood chain, says Greenwood
Seafood industry software and analytics tools provider Maritech has named Will Greenwood as managing director for its North America operations.
Greenwood, 46, has been a part of the Maritech Halifax team in Nova Scotia since 2017, working closely with Canadian and US seafood companies as a senior enterprise resource planning (ERP) consultant, Maritech said in a press release. Prior to joining Maritech, he spent 18 years in the field of automotive ERP.
“Maritech has huge potential in North America, as we are the only company in the world that is offering a complete cloud platform tailored for seafood processes,” said Greenwood.
He added: “The experience from our recent cloud software implementations, such as (salmon farmer) Grieg Seafood in both Norway and Canada, proves that we are very well-positioned to lead the digital transition of the entire seafood value chain.”
Growth mode
Greenwood said Maritech was in growth mode, having hired 26 employees last year and 24 so far this year.
“Two of the most recent are new consultants in Halifax and Seattle, and I believe that we are now 16 nationalities in five countries,” he said.
“Next up are several additional hires here in Nova Scotia, and we are also looking for more new talent across North America. We need new colleagues in several kinds of roles; developers, consultants, and sales representatives, to give a few examples.”
Maritech is owned by Norwegian aquaculture investor Broodstock Capital Partners and has branches in Iceland, North America, and Norway.
