Seafood processor Mathias Bjørge has selected Maritech as the leading technology provider for a state-of-the-art salmon processing plant, giving the company its biggest-ever project.

Maritech will deliver a comprehensive smart solution, seamlessly integrating Maritech Cloud, Purchase & Sales, Maritech Control & Insight, and Maritech Packing - connecting the entire value chain from raw material purchasing to final customer sales.

“This is the biggest project we have ever undertaken, and we are incredibly proud to help build a salmon processing facility that will set new industry standards,” said Astrid Bolstad Dale, vice-president of services at Maritech.

André Lillebakk, business development director at Maritech, said: “Mathias Bjørge has been instrumental in driving innovation, continuously seeking the most efficient and intelligent solutions. Together, we have designed a fully integrated, data-driven production system that optimises efficiency, precision, and sustainability. Their forward-thinking approach and commitment to collaboration have made this process both seamless and highly effective.”

Factory's 'brain'

Maritech said its smart technology will serve as the brain of the factory, orchestrating all operations and ensuring that all suppliers and systems communicate efficiently. This includes the full integration of equipment from leading providers enabling automated fish distribution and sorting based on real-time data insights.

“We have had a long-standing and strong partnership with Maritech,” said Henning Bjørge, co-owner of Mathias Bjørge Seafood. “Their ability to collaborate, think creatively, and develop tailored solutions has been instrumental in our decision to transition to the cloud and implement Control & Insight in our new facility.”

By leveraging advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and real-time data processing, the system will optimise raw material usage, improve yield, and drive sustainability - enhancing margins and strengthening the company’s competitive advantage.

Maritech said the fully integrated smart factory solution marks a new era in salmon processing, setting a global benchmark for efficiency, intelligence, and sustainability.
