Mainstream changes name to Cermaq

Published Modified

As a company focused in fish farming only, Cermaq will introduce Cermaq as name for all parts of its operations. The change of names follows the sale of the feed division EWOS, which was completed 31 October. The new name for Cermaq’s farming companies will be implemented in the near future. Following the sale of the feed division EWOS, Cermaq is a dedicated farming company. Cermaq will utilise the strengths in one common name, and the local farming companies, which today are named Mainstream, will consequently change names to Cermaq. - Cermaq is a well-established name, and a common name will strengthen our global operations, says CEO Jon Hindar. Cermaq is the world’s third largest farmer of salmon and trout, with operations in Norway, Chile and Canada. The farming operations is built on acquisitions and organic growth, and there are many company names from Norway, Chile and Canada which have been a part of Mainstream, and which now till change name to Cermaq. - With this Cermaq will be a uniform company which can utilise the opportunities from being a dedicated farming company, underlines Jon Hindar.
