Lerøy Seafood Group harvested 5,700 gwt of salmon in its northern Aurora region in Q1 2023.

Lerøy harvested 28,600 gwt of salmon and trout in Q1

Norwegian salmonid farmer and fishing company Lerøy Seafood Group harvested 28,600 gutted weight tonnes of salmon and trout in the first quarter of this year, is said in a market update.

The total doesn’t include its share of fish harvested by Scottish Sea Farms, which Lerøy owns 50/50 with fellow Norwegian salmon farmer SalMar.

Lerøy’s harvest volumes per region were:

  • Lerøy Aurora (northern Norway): 5,700 gwt
  • Lerøy Midt (central Norway): 8,700 gwt
  • Lerøy Sjøtroll (southern Norway): 14,200 gwt (of which 3,700 gwt was trout)

Total wild catch volumes were 25,300 tonnes for Q1 2023, of which 8,000 tonnes were cod.

Lerøy is Norway’s third biggest salmon farmer, behind SalMar and leader Mowi, and harvested 161,500 gwt of fish in Norway in 2021.
