Lerøy harvested almost twice as much volume in its northern region in Q3 2021 than in the same period last year.

Lerøy’s Q3 harvest volume grew by 28%

Norwegian salmon farmer Lerøy harvested 48,000 gutted weight tonnes of salmon and 8,400 gwt of rainbow trout in the third quarter of this year, it said in a market announcement yesterday.

The total harvest volume of 56,400 gwt is 12,200 gwt (28%) more than the 44,200 gwt harvested in Q3 2020.

“As previously communicated the release from stock cost is expected to be lower in second half 2021 compared to first half 2021,” stated Lerøy.

“Due to changes in the harvest plan, the release from stock cost for Lerøy Sjøtroll and Lerøy Aurora in Q3 2021 will be higher than expected as of publication of the Q2 2021 report. Expected harvest volume for 2021 is not changed.”

Lerøy expects to harvest a total of 192,000 gwt from its three Norwegian regions – Aurora (north), Midt (central) and Sjøtroll (south) – in 2021. That increases to 205,000-210,000 gwt if its share of volumes from associate companies is added.

The biggest of these is Scottish Sea Farms, which Lerøy jointly owns with SalMar.
