Land-based guidelines on the cards
“The Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries is working on proposals for regulatory changes regarding land-based commercial salmon farming, which we aim to send out for consultation soon,” according to the ministry’s communications manager, Ingrid Dåsnes.

Dåsnes observes that land-based aquaculture is dealt with in the government plans for aquaculture on sustainable growth.
“The Ministry is working on proposals for regulatory changes regarding land-based commercial fish salmon farming, which we aim to send out for consultation soon,” Dåsnes told www.kyst.no
“The regulatory provisions will implement the proposal from the government in the notification of land-based aquaculture, which the Parliament endorsed. The plan is that the new rules can be enforced starting next year,” she adds.
