Bangkok beckons for Scottish seafood companies

Three Scottish seafood companies are exhibiting at southeast Asia’s largest food and drink trade event, THAIFEX - World of Food Asia, which gets under way in Bangkok tomorrow.

Loch Duart, the Scottish Salmon Company and the Hebridean Smokehouse are among 14 Scottish food and drink companies which will be represented at the Scottish Pavilion Hall of the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in the Thai capital.

THAIFEX - World of Food Asia, which runs for five days, is expected to attract more than 45,000 trade visitors, with more than 2,000 exhibitors promoting the latest innovative products.

Loch Duart’s salmon won the Foodservice Product of the Year prize at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards 2017 earlier this month, the Scottish Salmon Company exports to 25 countries around the world and has been awarded the prestigious Label Rouge accreditation, while North Uist-based Hebridean Smokehouse is a producer of premium quality smoked salmon and shellfish.

The other Scots companies attending THAIFEX - World of Food Asia are Ashers Bakery, Black Isle Brewery, The Craft Beer Clan, Crucial Drinks, Dunnet Bay Distillers, Maclean’s Highland Bakery, Made in Scotland, The Orkney Brewery, R&B Distillers, Tempest Brewing Co and Vegware.
