There have never been so many salmon in the sea at the end of that month

According to Akvafakta's monthly statistics, there were 802,000 tonnes of salmon in Norwegian fish farms in March. This is significantly higher than any other year before and up 13% from the same time last year. This continues the trend that began in earnest in December with a solid increase in biomass compared to the previous year.

A similar trend is also seen for trout, which saw an increase of 12% from March 2024, which in turn had an increase of 19% from 2023. At the end of March this year, there were 46,000 tonnes of trout in the sea.
