Last week cod farmer Norcod's work boat Hilde S capsized and finally sank after an attempt to tow.

Norcod chief executive Christian Riber told Fish Farming Expert's Norwegian sister site, Kyst.no, that the incident happened at the company's Labukta site in Nesna municipality.

Engine room took in water

When asked what was to blame for the sinking, Riber said that there was water intrusion into the starboard engine room, but that the cause of this incident is currently unknown.

The general manager says that there were three workers on board during the incident, but that no one has suffered personal injuries.

"The boat has been towed into shallow waters and was secured last night, the boat will be raised during the evening," he said at the weekend.
