Scotland's US sales slump
Scottish salmon sales to the US in 2015 were down by 17.7 in volume and 25.3% in value - at 13,469 tonnes, worth $105.33 million.
Chile was the largest exporter, sending 140,360 tonnes, worth $1.2 billion, up by 1.4% in terms of volume but down by 17.2% in value compared to 2014.
Canada was in second place, selling 91,550 tonnes, worth $599.37 million - up by 40.4% in volume and 20.6% in value.
According to the trade data published by the Fisheries Statistics Division of the NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Service, Norway was in third place, selling 41,591 tonnes,, worth $367.04 million - an increase of 48.2% in vlume and 15.5% in value.
Meanwhile, China was in fourth place, with exports to the us totalling 37,701 tonnes, worth $227.52 million - down by 10.7% in volume and 7.4% in value.
Overall the US imported 357,190 tonnes of salmon and trout products, worth US$ 2,819.1 million, representing a 6.3 per cent decrease in value and a 9.8 per cent increase in volume, compared to 2014.
