On Saturday, May 5, Radio Las Nieves reported the death of the Servomar diver Víctor Llenlaf Marín, 48, who worked at Multiexport’s facilities in the vicinity of Puerto Aguirre, Aysén.

"As soon as the incident was verified, the Company's Emergency Plan was activated, immediately informing the authorities," stated Multiexport.

"Víctor Llenlaf worked as a diver and had a long career in the trade, and had all the corresponding health checks that were up to date."

The authorities are conducting investigations to clarify the causes of death. According to what was reported from the Puerto Aysén Prosecutor's Office to Fish Farming Expert’s Chilean sister site, Salmonexpert, the investigation will take time and there is still no conclusive news about Llenlaf's death.

“Salmones Multiexport deeply regrets the death of Mr Víctor Llenlaf, and express their deepest condolences to his close relatives and colleagues, with whom they are in permanent contact, and assistance has been offered in these difficult times," Multiexport said in a statement.
