The fieldhouse will provide services to soccer groups and leagues of all ages, as well as lacrosse, football, rugby and tennis groups. The field will be called Cermaq Turf and, at the end of the 10 years, the salmon producer will have the opportunity to renew the sponsorship.

“We are excited to be able to support something that will benefit the local community as well as visitors from all over the Island, not only for soccer but other sport teams as well,” said Fernando Villarroel, Cermaq Canada’s Chief Operating Officer. “Sports are part of a healthy lifestyle and promote teamwork. As a company we have been actively supporting community sports for many years.”

The Rotary Club of Campbell River has also donated $100,000 towards the project. The total cost of the fieldhouse is expected to be around $550,000.
