MH Canada hires BC salmon association chief
Marine Harvest Canada has appointed Jeremy Dunn, executive director of the British Columbia Salmon Farmers' Association, as its new public affairs director.
Dunn will replace Ian Roberts, who is moving to Marine Harvest Scotland in May as communications and business development director. Roberts will take over the communications duties of Marine Harvest's longest-serving employee, business support manager Steve Bracken, who is retiring at the end of July after 41 years with the company.
Dunn had led the BC Salmon Farmers' Association's five-person team for the past four years.
'An incredible experience'
He said: "The past four years with the BCSFA has been an incredible experience and introduced me to the talented women and men working in B.C. and the global seafood sector.
"This experience has led me to want to become involved on a deeper level, and I'm excited to join Marine Harvest. I can't thank the board of directors enough for their guidance, leadership and support."
The BC Salmon Farmers' Association represents 52 businesses and organisations throughout the value chain of finfish aquaculture in BC. Its members account for over 95% of the annual provincial harvest of farm-raised salmon, and all of the salmon feed produced in BC.
The BCSFA's chairman is MH Canada managing director, Vincent Erenst.
