'Urgent challenges' facing Canadian food supply

The Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance (CAIA) is urging the country’s fish farmers to watch a virtual press conference on domestic food supply hosted by the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA) at 1pm Eastern Daylight Time today (6pm BST).

The CFA will be taking questions after a statement by CFA president Mary Robinson on potential risks to Canada’s domestic food supply because of the Covid-19 epidemic.

“There are a number of urgent challenges confronting Canada’s food supply and we implore you to watch this press conference whether you represent an urban area in Canada, or rural,” stated the CFA.

“All Canadians are impacted by the important work of Canadian Agriculture and our farmers.

“Canada’s entire food system needs your leadership to help Canada through this trying time and assist in the recovery.”

The CAIA is a member of the CFA.
