Grieg Seafood harvested 17,700 tonnes of salmon in third quarter

Norway and Canada salmon farmer Grieg Seafood harvested 17,700 gutted weight tonnes in the third quarter of this year, most of which was produced in Norway, it revealed in a trading update today.

The volume is an increase of more than 5,000 gwt compared to the 12,245 gwt harvested in same period last year, when biological events impacted production and harvest was kept low to concentrate on rebuilding biomass.

No fish were harvested in Q3 in Newfoundland, where Grieg is slowly building production in Placentia Bay.

Harvest volume by region in Q3 were:

Norway:

  • Rogaland: 8,500 gwt
  • Finnmark: 6,000 gwt

Canada:

  • British Columbia: 3,200 gwt
  • Newfoundland: 0 (zero)
