Floyd, who started his new role on Monday, will provide on-the-ground technical support and advice, working closely with Scale AQ’s clients to support its marine infrastructure portfolio (pens, nets and moorings) as part of wider move to grow the UK division of the Norwegian company.

The Helensburgh man has a strong industry background spanning more than 33 years. He started his career at Jura Salmon as a husbandry man, eventually rising to the position of SSC’s production director in 2010.

‘Huge potential’

Floyd said: “I am delighted to be joining such a forward thinking and dynamic company with huge potential ahead. Most of all I am really looking forward to getting back out and meeting industry colleagues old and new.”

Graham Smith, general manager for Scale AQ’s UK operation, said: “I am delighted we have managed to recruit Brian into the company. We feel that with Brian’s longstanding service, industry insight and production background he is a perfect fit for us as we move into the next chapter of our exciting journey to grow the UK operation.

“Brian will also work very closely with our global colleagues, ensuring we bring all our expertise together to be a strong partner and advisor to all our clients.”
