Gael Force Fusion plans jobs boost in move to new site
Salmon pen manufacturer Gael Force Fusion hopes to create eight new jobs after successfully bidding for the former Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary premises at Barcaldine near Oban.
Gael Force Fusion intends to move from its current base at Barcaldine, which is leased from Scottish Sea Farms, into the new premises.
The company’s owner, Inverness-based Gael Force Group, said in a press release that the new premises will enable Gael Force Fusion to continue with its plans to invest in innovative fish farm pen systems, research and development, technical design and manufacturing.
Planning consents
It added that by committing to an investment at the site, Gael Force is supporting its 22 skilled workers in the Oban area and, subject to necessary planning consents, will be seeking to create a further eight jobs.
A planning application is being prepared for change of use of the site and will be submitted to Argyll and Bute Council shortly.
