Bakkafrost reported harvest volumes of 11,000 gutted weight tonnes in the Faroes in the first quarter of 2023.

Faroes and Scotland salmon farmer Bakkafrost harvested 19,100 gutted weight tonnes of fish in the first quarter of 2023, it said in a trading update today.

Bakkafrost harvested 11,000 gwt in the Faroes and 8,100 gwt in Scotland.

In the Faroes, 4,100 gwt was harvested in the northern region, 3,800 gwt in the west, and 3,000 gwt in the south.

In Scotland, all tonnage was harvested in the north. The company previously said that it would not harvest from its farms in its Scotland south region in Q1 so that it could rebuild stocks after suffering mortalities last year.

The fill Q1 2023 report will be released on May 9.
