Bakkafrost harvests 18,000 tonnes in Q1
Bakkafrost harvested 10,700 tonnes (head on gutted equivalents) of salmon in the Faroes in the first quarter of this year, and a further 7,300 tonnes in Scotland (Scottish Salmon Company), the Faroese company said in a trading update today.
In the Faroes, Farming North harvested 6,300 tonnes, Farming West 2,800 tonnes and Farming South 1,600 tonnes.
Feed sales by Bakkafrost’s feed subsidiary, Havsbrún, totalled 19,100 tonnes.
Havsbrún sourced 64,800 tonnes of raw materials in the quarter.
