Finance chief quits SalMar just six months after joining
Neilsen will stay with salmon farmer until the end of the year
Norwegian salmon farming heavyweight SalMar today announced that chief financial officer Gunnar Nielsen had handed in his resignation.
Nielsen has only been with SalMar since April this year and will stay with the company until the end of 2022.
SalMar, which co-owns Scotland’s second-largest salmon farmer Scottish Sea Farms, said it accepted Nielsen’s decision with regret and will promptly start the process of recruiting his replacement.
“SalMar wishes to thank Nielsen for his efforts and valuable contributions as part of the top management during the period he has been in the company,” said chief executive Linda Litlekalsøy Aase.
Nielsen’s previous positions include five years as CFO at Faroese salmon farmer Bakkafrost from 2014-19.
