Bakkafrost upgrades 2019 harvest guidance

The Faroe Islands’ largest salmon farmer, Bakkafrost, today announced that it had upgraded its 2019 harvest guidance by an extra 1,500 tonnes.

In a trading update, Bakkafrost said it now expects to harvest 54,500 tonnes (head on gutted equivalent) this year, rather than the 53,000 tonnes previously guided.

In the fourth quarter of 2018 Bakkafrost harvested 4,000 tonnes in its northern region and 8,300 tonnes in its western region, totalling 12,300 tonnes.

Feed sales by its subsidiary, Havsbrun, amounted to 24,700 tonnes in Q4 2018.
