Chilean salmonid export earnings fall 11.5% in H1
The value of Chilean salmonid exports fell by 11.5% to US $2,379 million in the first half of 2020, compared to $2,689m in the same period last year.
Figures from Chile’s Central Bank show that exports of Atlantic and coho salmon were together worth $2,109m, a drop of 13.2% compared with H1 2019, when salmon exports were worth $2,431m.
However, the value of Chilean trout exports rose by 4.7% to $270m in the first six months of this year, compared to the $258m made in H1 2019.
For 2019 as a whole, Chile’s salmonid exports were worth $5,135m, a slight decrease of 0.42% compared to the $ 5,157m accrued in 2018.
