ACFFA 2018 Aquaculture Forum

The Atlantic Canada Fish Farmers Association is hosting the Atlantic Canada Aquaculture Forum happening today in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada.

The conference is featuring a pilot study from the Passamaquoddy Bay region located in the Lower Bay of Fundy. The presentation includes information on the migration of juvenile salmon and their interactions with the aquaculture industry.

Furthermore, a presentation will be done by Laura Braden from AquaBounty who will speak about regulations regarding sea lice, sea lice physiology and an update on gene slicing techniques.

A session about the modern day population and community monitoring systems which includes environmental DNA updates will be held by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

The two day conference will conclude with a discussion about research and development priorities within the industry.
