ROV supplier adds language options for Norway and Chile
Canadian remotely operated vehicle (ROV) supplier Deep Trekker has launched new firmware allowing salmon farmers in Chile and Norway to choose their own languages instead of English on the ROV’s controller.
“As a global company we felt that it was crucial our valued customers were able to access our vehicles in a way that made sense for them. Spanish and Norwegian are just the first of many language options to come,” said a company spokesperson.
On fish farms, ROVs are used for net, mooring and anchor inspection, mort removal, and fish monitoring among a variety of other tasks.
Multiple languages
The addition of Spanish and Norwegian language choices on Deep Trekker’s DTG3 and REVOLUTION vehicles supports to company’s expansion plans.
In May last year, the company established a Chilean subsidiary, Deep Trekker SpA, in the salmon farming centre of Puerto Montt.
“Our direct presence in Latin America allows us to get even closer to our customers,” said Deep Trekker president Sam Macdonald in a press release. “With our latest update we are able to deliver innovative products and updates based on the specific needs of our customers across the globe.”
“This is just the beginning,” added Macdonald. “We will continue to offer our controller firmware in multiple languages.”
