High costs for Grieg in Canada

Grieg Seafood’s total harvest volume for the first quarter of this year was approximately 13,600 gutted weight tonnes, excluding volumes from the Shetland operations which are classified as held for sale.

Nearly all the harvest came from the Rogaland and Finnmark regions of Norway, with 900 gwt harvested in British Columbia at a cost of Can $8.9 (£5.16) per kilo.

Grieg harvested 5,300 gwt in Rogaland at a cost of NOK 42.5 (£3.68) per kilo, and 7,400 gwt in Finnmark at a cost of NOK 46.9 per kilo, it said in a market update.
