SalMar harvested 40,300 tonnes in Q4
Norwegian salmon farmer SalMar harvested 40,300 tonnes gutted weight in Norway and Iceland in the fourth quarter of 2019, it said in a trading update today.
SalMar, which owns 50% of Scottish Sea Farms, harvested 24,400 tgw in central Norway and 13,400 tgw in northern Norway.
A further 2,600 tgw was provided by its Icelandic subsidiary, Arnarlax.
In the same period in 2018 SalMar harvested 40,400 tgw in Norway and 2,000 tgw in Iceland.
Today’s update did not include production from Scottish Sea Farms. Because SalMar does not own a majority stake in Scottish Sea Farms, the company is classed as an associate and its production is not included within SalMar’s volumes.
The full Q4 2019 report will be released on February 26.
