Located on the island of Yell, were the company’s existing plant is currently operational, the new faciltiy – which is due to open at the end of October – will be run by a workforce of 40 (instead of the current plant’s 30) and boost the processing capacity from 40 tonnes to 80-100 tonnes per day.

The project involves a complete renovation of a former crab processing plant next to Cooke’s current facility and it will be equipped with 4 processing lines – 3 auto and 1 manual – an on-site ice making facility, a new treatment/offal plant and new offices.

The company is looking for enthusiastic motivated individuals with a ‘can do’ approach to their work and, ideally, previous production or packaging experience.

Successful candidates will be required to carry out product cleaning and inspection, boxing, icing, palletising as well as follow a strict cleaning regime. Full training will be given where necessary.

Transportation to and from the workplace can be provided, depending on circumstances/location, and the roles come complete with a competitive salary, annual bonus scheme, generous company pension contributions and employee salary sacrifice schemes. Furthermore flexible and split shifts can be negotiated.
