Shetland-based salmon company scoops first international award

Grieg Seafood Hjaltland UK Ltd scooped the prize for their WildWaters Gravadlax ‘Limoncello’ at the Seafood Excellence Awards held at the International Boston Seafood Show (March 11th – 13th).

Welcoming the company’s first international award and reports that the judges were “blown away” and “left speechless” by the product entry, Scott Landsburgh, chief executive, Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation, said:

“As the Seafood Excellence Awards recognise the product leaders in the North American market, this is fabulous recognition of the quality of salmon from Grieg Seafood Hjaltland UK Ltd in Shetland.

“It is particularly pleasing as this is the first international award won by the company and it will help to strengthen the company’s already significant award winning reputation,” he added.

Winners of the awards were selected from a group of ten finalists during a live judging by a panel of seafood buyers and experts from the retail and foodservice industries.
