
Mitsubishi acquires Salmones Humboldt
According to a report forwarded by Pesquera Coloso to the Chilean Securities and Insurance Supervisor or SVS, the purchase and sale agreement establishes a base price of US$ 65.25 million. Likewise, by this agreement the buyers accept to pay liabilities of US$ 59 million.
The general manager of Pesquera Coloso, Domingo Jiménez, commented that this sale process will generate a positive effect in the EBIT of his company, calculated in US$ 48.75 million. Meanwhile, this could be considered as a major breakthrough in the plan of Mitsubishi to enter the salmon business.
Southern Cross Seafoods was created last February when Mitsubishi entered an agreement with the local firm Primar (read more).
