Fiordo Austral launched new processing plant

Fiordo Austral invested USD 13.4 million in the plant Puerto Chacabuco which has a maximum processing capacity of 20 tonnes per hour and -according to the company- could became a sanitary solution for the salmon producers of the 11th Region.

The vice-president of Fiordo Austral, Ramón Yávar, explained that the company plans to produce the best fishmeal and fish oil obtained from fisheries resources in this plant, their fifth producing facility in the country, the journal Diario de Aysén published.

Fiordo Austral born from the merge process agreed between the companies SalmonOil and Pesquera Pacific Star. This company produces fishmeal and fish oil from artisanal fisheries and also from mortalities collected in salmon farming sites.
