Aquatech company Tidal strengthens customer support in Norway
Aquaculture technology company Tidal is expanding its customer support in Norway with the appointment of Preben Matre, who was previously the commercial lead for Benchmark’s Health division.
Matre, who has also worked for Scotland-based company Ace Aquatec, joins Tidal as its senior solutions consultant. His appointment follows Tidal’s hiring of senior sales executive Kristine Langaunet and commercial director Anders Fossøy.
Tidal – which has partnered for several years with Mowi to develop its artificial intelligence-based technology - is a spin-out from Google’s Moonshot Factory project and is backed by several investors, including Kverva, the investment arm of the Witzøe family who own a majority stake in salmon farmer SalMar.
Significant potential
“In recent years, the industry has made great strides in adopting data analysis and artificial intelligence in production, but the potential of these technologies remains significant,” said Matre in a press release.
“Tidal aims to be a key partner in facilitating this progress, and I am excited to join a team that combines leading technological expertise with deep industry experience.
“I look forward to collaborating closely with customers and the team to bridge the gap between data and value creation. For me, this is about contributing to an industry I am passionate about and ensuring solutions that create a more sustainable and resilient food system at a time when the world needs it most.”
Real-time data
Tidal is now expanding its “customer success” team in Norway, with more focus on supporting customers in their discovery of novel insights from the real-time data that Tidal cage cameras and software systems provide.
“Preben brings extensive experience in integrating customer relationships with data, making him a vital addition to our Norwegian team. The company is growing rapidly, and we are experiencing significant market interest in our product,” said Anders Fossøy.
