Aquachile's harvests drop 63%
Chile's largest salmon producer expects a 63 per cent decrease in its harvest of salmonids in Q2 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year, falling to 6,855 tonnes.
According to a report recently published by Aquachile, its harvests of salmonids is projected to fall from 18,617 tonnes in Q2 2015 to 6,855 in Q2 2016.
The company expects a 58 per cent decrease in its Atlantic salmon harvest from 13,554 tonnes in Q2 2015, down to 5,667 tonnes in the same months of this year. Likewise, the firm expects a 77 per cent decrease in rainbow trout harvests, from 5,063 to 1,188 tonnes.
Finally, Aquachile expects zero harvests of coho salmon in Q2 2016 just like in the same quarter of the previous year.
