Steve Tucker moves from chief operating officer to chief executive.

New chief executive for Aquabyte

Fish farming technology supplier Aquabyte today announced that its current president and chief operating officer, Steve Tucker, will become the company’s new chief executive. Founder Bryton Shang moves from being CEO to becoming executive chairman.

“I am incredibly proud of what the team has achieved at Aquabyte. Steve brings rich experience and a unique management background to our departments in Norway and Silicon Valley,” said Shang. “He has been decisive for Aquabyte’s profitable growth and is well positioned to drive both innovation and further growth within Norwegian and global aquaculture.”

Shang will remain actively involved in Aquabyte as chairman and ambassador for the company.

Five countries

Tucker said: “I am excited to step into the role of CEO of Aquabyte, and at the same time humbled by the opportunity to work with such a fantastic team. Aquabyte combines the leading aquaculture expertise from Norway and Chile with unique development expertise from Silicon Valley. We are very pleased with our expansion to five countries, doubling of sales in 2024 and a contracted turnover of over NOK 150 million (£10.9m).”

Tucker will continue to lead Aquabyte from the company’s head office at Damsgård in Bergen, Norway.
