Salmon byproducts processor takes wraps off new website
Online presence highlights efforts to advance nutritional value of ingredients
Biomega, a company that makes Atlantic salmon-based ingredients for the health and nutrition, premium pet food, and aquaculture markets, has unveiled a new website that aims to showcase Biomega’s products and services and highlight its dedication to fostering a more sustainable aquaculture industry by advancing the nutritional value of its ingredients through innovative biorefining techniques.
“These efforts focus on sustainable sourcing, minimising waste, and reducing environmental impact,” said marketing manager Nina Lerbrekk. “The site also features enhanced access to detailed information about our functional ingredients, including SalMe Collagen peptides for human nutrition, the Salmigo range for premium pet food, and salmon oils and proteins designed for the aquafeed market.”
Industrial symbiosis
Norway-based Biomega owns food grade biorefineries on the island of Sotra, near Bergen, Norway, and at the salmon processing and distribution hub of Port of Hirtshals, Denmark. The company produces salmon oil and peptides using continuous enzymatic hydrolysis.
“Our success is built on collaboration - not only with our customers but also with our suppliers and partners in creating an industrial symbiosis that drives innovation and sustainable solutions for the future,” said Lerbrekk. “This spirit of partnership inspires every aspect of our business and ensures we remain at the forefront of transformative change.”
The Biomega Group is owned by New York-based AMERRA Capital Management LLC.
