Fish farmer's wharf development goes up in flames
Five waterside buildings owned by Norwegian salmon farmer Alsaker Fjordbruk have been badly damaged by fire at the weekend.
Two of the buildings at Onarheim, in Tysnes municipality south of Bergen, also have water damage.
Police have launched an investigation into the blaze, reports state broadcaster NRK.
Auditorium
The buildings, which are located by the quayside, contain offices, meeting rooms and an auditorium and, according to Bladet Tysnes, have been under construction for several years and were nearing completion.
According to NRK, the coast guard ship Tor and the rescue boat Sundt helped with the firefighting.
“We moved into the office building in October,” Alsaker Fjordbruk public relations officer Kristian Råsberg said in a text message to Bergens Tidende.
No one is reported to be injured or missing.
